Hamza played 36 times during his season long loan to Watford, we asked John Fawell, from the Watford Supporters Trust, for his assessment of his spell with the club.
“Hamza was a fixture in the team apart from suspension and injury. He generally played In a more defensive midfield role more on the right but he did join the attack whenever he could.
He was incredibly hard working and never hid or avoided responsibility. He occasionally would get caught out but was reasonable at recovery, although sometimes guilty of diving in and giving away free kicks from which, we conceded a number of goals. He is quicker than he at first appears.
Watford fans would not have been sorry to see him stay and the general view is that he is a good championship midfielder but with some limitations that might be why he got so little game time with the Foxes in the premier league. For us he was a very valuable member of the team.
