View from the Opposition – Everton

A bit about you:

Name: Andy Craven

Current home town: Liverpool

Birthplace: Liverpool

How long have you supported your team? 39 years

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: History & Heritage of the old lady. No place like it in the world when Goodison Park is rocking.

Favourite match played by your team & why: Bayern Munich 1985. encapsulates everything about Everton around that time in the ECWC semi final. Went 1-0 down to an away goal, came back and never get beat attitude. Amazing night and never seen Goodison so full and bouncing like that before and since. Immense.

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Neville Southall

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? John Stones. Fantastic defender, cool and calm on the ball and he just glides out of defence with the ball. An immense talent with unlimited potential.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Gerard Deulofeu, flying winger at the moment with some great skills (lollipops) started to deliver the end product crosses and goals so one to beware of.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? – Vardy, scoring for fun currently !!

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Brendon Galloway, been deputising for Leighton Baines at Left Back and has done a great job, defending and attacking. Showing good potential.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? League is unpredictable this year but I think between 6th-8th

How do you think you’ll do against us? – tough one, just watched you guys being immense against Chelsea tonnes of energy and loads of chances. I can see it being high scoring and we will just nick it 3-2.

General Questions:

What do you think of you summer transfer activity both in and out of your club? disappointing, we seemed to be more happy about keeping John Stones than signing players which was a big positive by the way. Deulofeu came back perm and Argentine Defender Funes Mori came in who has adapted and done well. Needed more of a number 10 and Martinez said he would get one but didn't so overall disappointed, despite taking the stance on Stones which was great.

Do you think you need any further additions in January? Yes – defender and still a number 10 required. Keeper situation not great as Howard not doing well but doubt we will strengthen in that area.

Which three teams do you think will go down? Villa, Sunderland & Bournemouth

Who do you think will win the league? – Manchester City

Any other comments? – just to say great idea and look forward to welcoming you and the Foxes to Goodison on Saturday and looking forward to see Vardy live in action, albeit not scoring 😉
