A bit about you:
Name: Robert Roberts (I¹m so good my mother named me twice!)
Current home town: Nottingham
Birthplace: Swansea
How long have you supported your team? Since 3rd March 1978. My dad took me, as a 10 year old, to watch John Toshack¹s first home game in charge against Watford. The old Division 4. Graham Taylor was the Watford Manager and Elton John was still their Chairman. It was a 3 – 3 draw and both teams were promoted that year and the following year. Swansea were promoted the year after that too in a straight run to the old Division 1. We didn¹t stay there long though.
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: Always a good buzz on match day and you can get to see some real legends arriving if you hang around the VIP entrance before kick-off. Bobby Charlton was one of my best spots.
Favourite match played by your team & why: This season’s home game against Manchester United was awesome. We were deserved 2 – 1 winners. It¹s been all downhill since then!
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: John Toshack. He was my idol as a kid and was the reason I begun supporting Swansea. God forbid if it wasn¹t for him who knows I could have become a bluebird!
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Andre Ayew. The only player who is showing any sort of form right now. Just hope we can hang on to him for the rest of the season.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Andre Ayew for the reasons above.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? Jamie Vardy. I think the reason is obvious but you have so many form players at the moment. Riyad Mahrez looks class too.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Gambian international Modou Barrow has potential but I’d hoped to have started seeing more from him by now. England under 20¹s Midfield Matt Grimes has everybody excited.
Where do you think you¹ll finish this season? I’d take top 12 at this stage but things need to start improving with or without Monk.
How do you think you¹ll do against us? There’s no stopping you right now. I thought you would have started running out of steam but there¹s no sign of it. I’d take a draw. 1 – 1
General Questions:
What did you think of the summer transfer activity both in and out of your club? I thought it was great at the time. Of course Ayew has been a success. I thought Frank Tabanou was going to be a stand out player but it’s not happened.
What activity would you like to see in the January window? We have to get a striker. I haven’t written Bafe Gomis off but he needs competition. Charlie Austin or James Wilson maybe. I don¹t think Neil Taylor is good enough at Left Back either which is why I’d hoped Tabanou would have been the answer.
Which three teams do you think will go down? Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Norwich
Who do you think will win the league? Man City
Any other comments? It¹s great to see Leicester doing so well and I really hope you keep it up. I¹m sure you must now be hoping for even better than top 5 but even if you manage that you deserve massive credit.
