A bit about you:
Name: Owen Scrimshaw
Current home town: Nottingham Birthplace: Mexborough, South Yorkshire
How long have you supported your team? 37 years
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: The character of the old stand (west stand)
Favourite match played by your team & why: Barnsley beating Chelseas in FA Cup 6th round to reach the semi-final, where we subsequently lost to Cardiff. Was a superb atmosphere at the ground, especially when we took the lead.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Ronnie Glavin…a true midfield dynamo who scored more than his fair share of goals
About our forthcoming match against you: Hopefully we can pull a surprise like last year. We have played some good football this season, but have given away silly goals and conceded some bad defeats. It will be a tough game, but we could surprise Leicester and take something from the game.
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Luke Steele, a quality player
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Marcus Tudgay, a livewire striker who is regaining his match sharpness every week.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? I never really take much notice of the opposition, but if I was to identify anyone it would be Danny Drinkwater
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Jon Stones…an England player of the future
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Hopefully outside the relegation places. Initially I was hoping for a mid table finish but our current form is worrying
How do you think you’ll do against us? I can live in hope of a 1-1 draw
Any other comments? We at the supporters Trust in Barnsley are disappointed that again Leicester City have chosen to make the game a home fans promotion and not extended the offer to away supporters, who have the additional costs of travel. The vast majority of clubs tend to extend these offers to the away supporters, but it is a shame that Leicester have decided not to offer this promotion to Barnsley Supporters. Whilst Leicester are not breaking any rules, the spirit of the offer is missing, especially to away supporters
