A bit about you:
Name: Jerry
Current home town: Swavesey, Cambridge
Birthplace: Watford, lived locally until 1983, moved to a village outside Cambridge – retained my season ticket and now attend with my 16 year old son (both ST holders)
How long have you supported your team? 45 years+
Overview of your club:
Small town club regularly punching above its weight
Favourite thing about your home ground: Old school! As in old fashioned…
Favourite match played by your team & why: Blimey, a tough one! I think it would have to be our league cup win at Old Trafford when we were still in the old third division – one down at half time but two Luther Blissett goals and a miraculous save by Andy Rankin at the death, saw us record a famous victory – we eventually lost to Nott’s Forest (I know it is Nottingham, but it winds them up) over two legs.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Billy Jennings – not your typical centre forward, but what a player – he could hang in the air for what seemed like ages
About our forthcoming match against you:
A tough game for us, but we are improving so it could go either way, if we are at the races we are a match for anyone
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Daniel Pudil, fast, strong, intelligent and although a new recruit already seems to love the place. Often seen after the game with his young son on the pitch playing around…
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Chalobah, unbelievable talent for a 17 year old
Player in our squad you most fear and why? Andy King I would think, seems to have a knack of doing well against us if my memory serves me correctly
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Tommie Hoban, a great future beckons – remember his name!
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Top 10 hopefully – could be anywhere though
How do you think you’ll do against us? I think we could do well – 4-1!!! ![]()
Any other comments? Not really, if you are attending, have a safe trip.
