A bit about you:
Name: Tim Carder
Current home town: Brighton Birthplace: Brighton
How long have you supported your team? 48th season – but I started very young!
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: We’ve been there a year now. It’s not just fantastic to have a new home, it is a fantastic home per se. it’s well designed, the atmosphere’s always good, and it’s still a thrill every time I go there.
Favourite match played by your team & why: 6/8/2011 v Doncaster Rovers, the first league game at the Amex Stadium and the culmination of 14 years of effort by supporters. It was an awesome occasion. I suspect it will always remain my favourite game.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Peter Ward – lightning speed, great finisher, scored loads of goals in front of massive crowds. He will take some shifting from that position for anyone who followed the club at the time. Perhaps only Bobby Zamora comes close in my time.
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Probably Tomasz Kuszczak, the most most sold goalkeeper we have had in 35 years or more.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Striker Craig Mackail-Smith if he’s fit as he was on fire before getting injured.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? David Nugent’s got off to a good start so I would plump for him, but we do have quite a decent defence. Kasper Schmeichel is a good goalkeeper so perhaps him if we lapse into our shot-shy alter ego.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? No one really up-and-coming in the squad likely to be at Leicester. Our best prospect is probably Jake Forster-Caskey, a midfielder mature beyond his years who’s currently on loan at Oxford United.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? I’m hoping for a place in the play-offs.
How do you think you’ll do against us? Even after all these years I still go into each game thinking we will win. I’m hoping the international break will allow us to re-group and recover from injury problems – and that it will upset your great run of form!
Any other comments? Just hoping for an entertaining game.
