A bit about you:
Name: Chris Waters
Current home town: Crystal Palace
Birthplace: Surrey
How long have you supported your team? Early 90s
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: Great atmosphere, and old ground not sanitised by new stadia lack of atmosphere, great crowd noise, especially the Lower Holmesdale Stand
Favourite match played by your team & why: That’s a tough one – I’ve seen a few over the years. At a push I would have to see Brighton away in the second leg of the 2012/13 play-off semi-final, we had drawn the first leg 0-0 and lost our top scorer Murray to a cruciate ligament injury, so we went into the game against our fiercest rivals with no hope. To win 2-0 thanks to a Zaha double was brilliant.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Matt Jansen. Undoubtedly the most skilful player I have ever seen play for Palace, and I put him above Lombardo, Zaha etc. He had it all. He was on the verge of playing for England before his bike accident in Italy.
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Dwight Gayle. He is one of the most natural finishers I have ever seen, and has come on leaps and bounds this year, and can find the net out of nothing. Without him our side lacks goals.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Mile Jedinak leads us by example with his fearsome beard and warrior-like attitude in the centre of the park. He has just led Australia to winning the Asian Cup, so this will be his first game back at Palace in over a month. His fierce tackling and ability to read the game is second to none. And he takes a great penalty.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? David Nugent, he always scores against us! One of the best goals I have ever seen was when he ran from the half-way line round half our team to score for Preston in FA Cup game at Selhurst Park.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Our Academy is very strong, having produced the likes of Routledge, Moses, Zaha, and Clyne. Mandela Egbo is being touted as having a strong future in the game, one to watch out for in the future.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? We have the strongest squad that we have ever had, so it would be inexcusable if we got relegated. Still, this is Palace and we do love to shoot ourselves in the foot. I’ll go for an optimistic 14th.
How do you think you’ll do against us? We have had a poor record against the teams around us, albeit at home. As long as we don’t underestimate you I think we will come away from Leicester with at least a point.
Any other comments? I like the way the Foxes have stuck by their manager, it seems to be paying dividends now, and reflects well on them.
