Name: Paul Gardner
Current home town: Liverpool
Birthplace: Liverpool
How long have you supported your team? Since I was born and attended my first match in 1990 when I was 6.
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: The floodlights. Well, at least before the new floodlights were put in as part of UEFA Champions League regulations that look like stage lights for the Kop. I love walking down to Anfield seeing the floodlights and the top of the Kop coming into view as I got closer. It holds many special memories of the great matches under the floodlights particularly European ones.
Favourite match played by your team & why: A very obvious answer for this question with my favourite match being the Champions League Final in 2005. There have been many other special matches, but everyone will know the reasons why this would be most Liverpool fan's favourite match.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Due to my age it is hard to choose any of the great players of the 70's, 80's and earlier without seeing them live and in person. My first favourite player was Ian Rush, quickly followed by Robbie Fowler. I have been lucky to see many a great player pull on a Liverpool shirt including Gerrard, Torres and Suarez. I would have to go with Robbie Fowler though.
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Lucas. He allows the rest of the team to play. The team's recent record with and without Lucas shows how vital he is for stability and balance in the team. He won't score you goals or offer many assists, but in a team set up to have great attacking flair he offers a key defensive element to the team.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Sterling. He has pretty much been our main attacking outlet and only positive this season. He can change the pace of a game and put pressure on opposing defenders with his pace and skill.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? Ulloa. The main reason is because of our defensive and goalkeeper frailties. I would be getting worried with the ball being with any Leicester player in our defensive third, but particularly with your top scorer.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? There always seems to be many prospects that get rave reviews in our academy setup, but not many make it through in the way Sterling has done. Hopefully, more of the teenagers currently on the fringes of the first team squad will make an impression including the likes of Ibe (on loan at Derby), Rossiter, Ojo and Sinclair.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? 6th
How do you think you’ll do against us? Anything less than a Liverpool win would be seen as a bad result. Considering the way our season has gone so far we need the three points.
