View from the Opposition – Brighton
A bit about you:
Name: Tim Carder
Current home town: Brighton Birthplace: Brighton
How long have you supported your team? 47th season – gulp!
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: It's a fantastic new stadium with a great atmosphere.
Favourite match played by your team & why: 6/8/2011 v Doncaster Rovers, the first league game at the Amex Stadium and the culmination of 14 years of effort by supporters. It was an awesome occasion.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Peter Ward – lightning speed, great finisher, scored loads of goals in front of massive crowds.
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Will Buckley – a bit erratic, alternating brilliance with mediocrity but mostly brilliance – very exciting player.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Buckley as above, also Kazenga LuaLua if he’s fit – devastating change of pace and great shot.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? Kasper Schmeichel – good goalkeeper. We are a bit shot-shy so he might keep us at bay.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Jake Forster-Caskey – only 17 but has the vision of an experienced midfield maestro.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Outside bet for play-offs.
How do you think you’ll do against us? Would be happy with the last home result against Leicester – win 3-2 after being 2-0 down, great entertainment and great result.
Any other comments? Thank you to all Leicester City fans who helped Brighton & Hove Albion in their quest for a new ground. You and thousands of others across the country made the difference in persuading the Government to give planning permission for the only feasible site. We hope you enjoy your visit to the Amex Stadium. Please be patient getting away at the end of the game, or come and have a drink with us in the concourse bars.
