Nathan Dyer – Swansea Viewpoint

The recent season long loan signing of Nathan Dyer gave us the opportunity to catch up with the Swans Trust, who hold a 21% shareholding in their club and the prime example of how a club saved by a Trust can continue to have significant influence on the running of an established Premiership club.

Cath Dyer is a member of the Swans Trust Board and is their Welsh spokesperson, and also the Trust Rep of the Disabled Supporters Association, here is Cath’s views on Nathan

“Nathan Dyer is a winger who can play on either flank, and one of his strengths is his ability to use his pace to easily drift past an opponent.

His scintillating form down the wing during our promotion- winning campaign in the 2010-11 season meant that he was voted our Supporters Player of the Year. He played an important role in our play-off final, making a double assist.

He scored a brace in our Capital One Cup final against Bradford at Wembley in 2013, earning him the man of the match accolade.

Nathan also links up well with full backs to build a good relationship, whilst also being able to do his fair share of defending.

He scored his first Premier League goal during a match against West Brom in a 3 0 win back in 2011.

Nathan is a player that is able to chip in with a few goals a season.

Having been a stand-out performer for the Swans during the early part of the 2014-2015 Premier League season, scoring 4 goals in the process, an England call-up was widely tipped by many of the games pundits, but sadly the call from Roy Hodgson never materialised for the tricky winger.

We wish Nathan all the best in his new venture at Leicester and hope to see him back in a Swans shirt next season.

Gyda phob dymuniad da i Nathan a’i deulu.”
