A bit about you:

Name: Simon Clarkson

Current home town:  Sutton, Surrey        Birthplace: Lancaster

How long have you supported your team? Since 1985 when I went there to work.

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: The terracing. I love standing at matches and 50% of our ground is terracing. I think this is the highest standing capacity in the football league.

Favourite match played by your team & why: It has to be the events of 8th May 1999 v Plymouth. This game will always live in the memory. It's the last minute of injury time and we are staring relegation to the Conference in the face. Up comes Jimmy Glass, an on loan keeper for the corner and bang the rest is history. Cue wild celebrations at Brunton Park and misery at Scarborough who were prematurely drinking champagne on the pitch, celebrating their survival.

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Dean Walling. a centre half who was also a prolific goalscorer. Cries of " Deano, Deano, Deano " everytime we got a set piece. Great player…..

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Peter Murphy. 300+ appearances and a model professional. calm and assured on the ball. Always seems to have that extra second. scored the goal that got us back into the football league.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? On his day Simon Hackney. His pace and trickery on the left wing can give a full back a torrid time.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? Matty Fryatt. We had him on loan a few years ago. Don't former players always come back to haunt you ?

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Gary Madine. Product of the youth team where he was a prolific goalscorer. Still learning at pro level but a great prospect.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? At the current time we would settle for mid table. We are baffled how our form dipped so much in the autumn.

How do you think you’ll do against us? 1-0 to the Cumbrians !!

Any other comments? This game will generate a decent crowd for us and if it's a typical cold, wet, horrible Cumbrian day the Leicester team might not fancy it. I suggest supporters try a Brunton Pastie and a cup of Bovril. They will help to keep you warm. I'm making the 700 mile round trip and we usually win when I do.
