How long have you supported your team? 49th season. I started very young, but that’s pretty frightening!
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: I still get a thrill every time I visit the Amex Stadium. It’s exceptional and the facilities are second to none. It’s just a wonderful place to be, and in the middle of this month my pet project opens – a club museum.
Favourite match played by your team & why: The first league game at the Amex Stadium was the greatest day in the club’s history. It’s the day that saw our future secured after decades of uncertainty. So perhaps the occasion was more important than the match, but we actually beat Doncaster with two late goals. Purely from a footballing point of view, my favourite game was probably winning at Liverpool in 1983 on our way to our first FA Cup final.
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Peter Ward – lightning speed, great finisher, scored loads of goals in front of massive crowds. He will take some shifting from that position for anyone who followed the club at the time. Perhaps only Bobby Zamora comes close in my time.
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? He’s been injured for a couple of months, but he might be back to face you. Leo Ulloa, an Argentine brought in from Spain, has quickly adapted to the challenge of English football and shows great touch and skill. If he stays fit, he’ll get loads of goals in the Championship.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? With our speedy wingers, capable of destroying any opposition, injured, I think that mantle falls on Ashley Barnes who has proved a capable deputy for Ulloa and gets his fair share of goals.
Player in our squad you most fear and why? David Nugent – nine goals in the Championship speaks for itself.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Rohan Ince, a powerfully built and athletic midfielder who came through our development squad and gets better every game. Looks as if he has the ability to play in any position.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? When all our players are fit, I think we have a strong squad which is capable of finishing in a play-off berth. If we have better fortune with injuries then in the top six. If not, then midway.
How do you think you’ll do against us? I always look for a win, but this will be tough with Leicester riding high at the moment. But I’ll say 2-1 to Brighton.
Any other comments? Whatever the result, I hope Leicester fans have a good day out in Brighton and enjoy the hospitality of the Amex Stadium.
