Get to Know the FT – John

Name: John Adcock

Day job:  Retired Ex Special Needs Teacher working with Primary pupils permanently excluded from school.

How long have you been on the Trust Board? About 3 years.

What made you come onto the Board? Wanting to do something to support LCFC beyond watching games.

What is your main role(s) on the Board? Interested in mainly Community aspects wanting to use my links with Primary education to engage in projects with LCFC.

What do you most like about Foxes Trust? That we have been able to have some influence in the running of the club although acknowledging that influence is far less at present.

What do you least like about Foxes Trust? The apparent hostility towards Foxes Trust from other fans when I feel we all really have the same interests at heart – the success of LCFC…..

How long have you been a Leicester City Fan? An armchair fan for most of my life but a 'real' fan since 2001 and my wife and I now attend all games home and away.

What was your first game? I can remember being taken to see Stanley Matthews play at Filbert Street when I was about 7 years old – vividly recall being passed over the top of the standing crowd down to the front!!

What was your favourite game of all time? Coming back to beat Tottenham in the cup match at the Walkers.

Any other comments for our membership? None that isn’t mentioned elsewhere in this article

Any other comments for all Leicester City Fans? I wish all fans could resist the temptation to boo the team when things aren't going well – it doesn't help and there are better ways of expressing disappointment and concern – e.g. join a Fans group and tackle the club that way.

Anything else you have a burning desire to say? Sometimes expectations are just too high – watching Premiership games on the TV makes fans think all football will be like that but it won't – sometimes LCFC fans are too quick to jump on a negative band wagon when getting behind the team could be far more effective.
