Oppos View – Preston

View from the opposition – Preston 15th Jan 2011

A bit about you:

Name:  Geoff Ollerton

Current home town: Preston

Birthplace: Preston

How long have you supported your team? 40 odd years

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: It's a REAL football ground and not one of those plastic 'arenas' like most of the new stadiums

Favourite match played by your team & why:  Leeds 4 v 6 Preston – first team ever to score SIX against that horrible lot at Elland Road need I say more ?

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Mike Elwiss / Alex Bruce (not the guy that played for Brum)  Most famous player was Sir Tom Finney….

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Don't have favourites

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Keith Treacy (if in the mood), Sean St Ledger. Treacy can be a match winner one day a complete waste of space the next so depends which one turns up. Ledge is a legend.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? I’m sorry but I don’t really know any of them.

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Adam Barton, Conor McLaughlin and Danny Mayor are our future

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Struggling to avoid the drop.

How do you think you’ll do against us? I think we will get our first win under the new manager

Any other comments?  Hope we see a good game in front of what should be a larg(ish) crowd – at a tenner a ticket too!

I think we have made a good appointment with Phil Brown and Brian Horton, both very experienced at this level and beyond. But only time will tell.

A lot depends on what the owner has promised them financially and whether he comes up with the cash. Fourth bottom will do for us this season.
