Trust Feels Club Has Again Gone Too Far

Earlier this season, the Foxes Trust felt the club over reacted by clamping down on the recently formed Fosse Boys to the point where fans were not being let into one section of the ground for simply wearing a Fosse Boys scarf.

Given the Fosse Boys had met with the club pre-season and explained the motives of the organisation, the clamp down caused huge resentment on the part of the fans concerned and the Fosse Boys received wide scale support from fellow fans.

However, following a clear the air meeting between the club and the Fosse Boys, and also involving the Football Supporters Federation, a way forward was agreed, with the club feeling that fans had to be responsible for lobbying for changes in legislation.

At the Scunthorpe game last weekend, a sign of supporter unity was taken when the Fosse Boys displayed a banner supporting a Scunthorpe fans campaign to maintain a standing area at their ground.

Our club however decided the banner had to be removed, due to being “too political”….

More details on this latest saga are available here on the Football Supporters Federation website.

The Trust is dis-appointed that the clubs actions have again resulted in a national fans organisation given the club deserved negative publicity.

We hope that in future a more considered approach is taken by our club in recognising that its paying fans have a right to express opinions and that it ceases to have knee jerk reactions, as there is no doubt that the clubs handling of fans is under increased national scrutiny.
