Oppos View – Derby

A bit about you:

Name: Jim Wheeler

Current home town:  Coalville

Birthplace: Coventry(!)

How long have you supported your team? Since birth (more than 40 years…)

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground:  The view – no pillars, well designed stadium.

Favourite match played by your team & why: Derby County 4 – 1 Nottingham Forest Nov 24, 1979. Totally unexpected, total annihilation of Forest Smile

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Bobby Davison….

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why?

Kris Commons – when he can be bothered. Pretty much the only player in the current squad capable of changing the game – the only real matchwinner but currently injured (again). Miles  Addison could be the future – but he’s also having injury problems. Sean Barker is looking rock-solid at the back, and we’ve got Michael Tonge on loan at present – and he is starting to show real ability.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Rob Hulse – scoring goals for fun at the moment.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? I really rate Matty Fryatt, from what I’ve seen he should go on to play at a higher level.

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Miles Addison – although he hasn’t moved forward in the past year due to injuries.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Anywhere between 12th & 17th (only a couple of points difference at present) – at least shows progress from last season.

How do you think you’ll do against us? We’re very inconsistent at the moment, but seem to turn it on for the ‘bigger’ matches so we should be ready for Leicester. I just hope there are no more mass ‘brawls’ (probably involving Robbie Savage).
