View from the opposition – Crystal Palace
With the increase in junior trust members partially as a result of our link up with Takeover Radio ( www.takeoverradio.co.uk ) here is an opposition view from a junior Palace fan:
A bit about you
Name – Ryan Hill (plays for Croydon Under 11team and trains at Crystal Palace Development Centre)
Current Home Town Croydon Birthplace Croydon
How long have you supported your team – 5 years
Overview of your club
Favourite thing about your home ground – atmosphere
Favourite match played by your team and why – Beating West Bromwich Albion away, this was the first match they lost this season. Neil Warnock, the Palace manager, has history with West Brom going back to the days when he managed Sheffield United and infamous 'Battle of Bramall Lane' of 2002 which was abandoned after 82 minutes with West Brom 3-0 ahead and Sheffield United down to 6 players…..
Favourite player of all time for your club – Ian Wright
About our forthcoming match against you
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Julian Speroni – he has been a good goalie
Player in your squad we should fear and why ? – Darren Ambrose, he has scored the most goals in league and cup so far this season
Player in our squad we should fear and why ? Fryatt, he has a good scoring rate in matches
Up and coming prospect in your squad ? Sean Scannell
Where do you think you will finish this season ? Mid table
How do you think you will do against us ? 1-1 draw
Any other comments – Neil Warnock was furious about the goal that never was against Bristol City. The ball hit the bar at the back of the net and bounced out so fast that the ref and his assistant missed it and said they didn't see it. It cost Palace points !! Palace requested a replay but this was turned down by the League. The action replay clearly showed a goal but it happened in seconds.
