View from the opposition – Derby County
A bit about you:
Name: Jim Wheeler
Current home town: Coalville
Birthplace: Coventry(!)
How long have you supported your team? Since birth (more than 40 years…)
Overview of your club:
Favourite thing about your home ground: The view – no pillars, well designed stadium.
Favourite match played by your team & why: Derby County 4 – 1 Nottingham Forest Nov 24, 1979. Totally unexpected, total annihilation of Forest J
Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Bobby Davison….
About our forthcoming match against you:
Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Kris Commons – when he can be bothered. Pretty much the only player in the current squad capable of changing the game – the only real matchwinner (unless Giles Barnes was ever to get fit again). Miles Addison could be the future – but he’ll probably be sold.
Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Kris Commons
Player in our squad you most fear and why? Stevie Howard – we should NEVER have sold him to you. Matt Fryatt looks to be on form at present as well.
Up and coming prospect in your squad? Miles Addison – although he seems to be getting plaudits now.
Where do you think you’ll finish this season? 17th – 1 place better than last season = progress (hopefully)
How do you think you’ll do against us? Our away record is abysmal, and you seem to be on form at present, so I’m not confident. I just hope we don’t capitulate again.
