Still Time for Club to Help Loyal Fans

Foxes Trust Press Release

The Foxes Trust is still receiving numerous complaints from fans unhappy that having had their seat at the Walkers Stadium since it was built, that they are being financially penalised for not having money available to buy a Season Ticket by this weekend and lose their seat.

Foxes Trust Chairman Ian Bason explains “There are many fans who had budgeted to pay for their season ticket in full in May, but won’t have all the cash available by mid March.

The club is promoting that a £50 deposit will retain your seat via signing up to a Direct Debit, however the first payment is then due only 2 weeks later, if fans do not have all the money until May, they could face paying over 3 instalments, costing an extra £12 in administration fees to retain their seats.

We understand the need for the club to set budgets for next season as early as possible to aid squad building plans, but if fans sign up to the Direct Debit scheme, the club knows the money will be received, it is guaranteed revenue”

Therefore, the Trust is urging the club, even at this late stage of marketing, to recognise that they should be doing all it can to avoid penalising long term Season Tickets holders and therefore has again written to the club this week, asking for the terms of the Direct Debit system to be changed, so following the £50 deposit being taken, that the Initial Payment date can be set to 30th April for those selecting to pay in either a single or two instalments.

Bason added “We feel this would be a better solution, with fans who have all the money available be the end of April, then paying in a single instalment and being charged a one £4 fee, while those paying over 2 instalments, would complete paying at the end of May, incurring £8 in fees”

“The club has dug its heels in since the Season Ticket pricing was announced, it’s time the club demonstrated that it is listening and helped loyal fans in this small way during these more difficult financial times.

It would be a shame to lose Season Ticket holders, given the on pitch performances this season, by showing a complete lack of movement off the pitch”
