View from the opposition – West Ham United Part Two

Name: Steve Sheppard

Current home town:  Melbourne

Birthplace: Hereford

How long have you supported your team? I’m 27 now, since I was 6

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: Nothing beats singing ‘bubbles’ at kickoff makes our ground seem surreal. Sad to say it's almost over there.

Favourite match played by your team & why: I have a few from days gone by. But there's been so many good ones this year. Beating Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in 50+ years was epic, the manner in which we did it too an easy 3-0  will not be forgotten quickly.

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: I like most Hammers love Paolo Di Canio he was an absolute hero, i also have a soft spot for Alessandro Diamanti another enigmatic Italian. This season it's hard to not have a man crush on Payet.

About our forthcoming match against you:

Firstly I have to say I'm so very pleased to see how well Leicester have done this year. I didn't really like you lot making so much noise at Upton Park at the start of the season but can be forgiven because you really have been a breath of fresh air and rightly so you enter this game as favourites.

We will be flat after throwing away our only decent shot at a trophy in years. Can see the pace your team possesses causing us all sorts of problems.

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Dimi payet. Too good for west ham. And who'd have thought he would be this good at the start of the season. Player of the year in my books.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? That man above, seems to have the eye for a killer pass/ assist and his delivery of the ball from set pieces and open play mind you is deadly. Don't give away free kicks anywhere between 18-30 yards because he will more than likely score!

Player in our squad you most fear and why? I would’ve said Albrighton as he has a knack of causing us some trouble when he plays, Vardy has started scoring again. More than likely he'll follow up with another goal against us.

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Reece Oxford according to anyone and everyone it seems, shows a lot of promise and seems pretty calm for a 16 year old, if he can keep his feet on the ground he will be a future England captain, hopefully while still with West Ham, i fear he will be the subject of some bids in the future. Lately. Reece Burke and Josh Cullen who are on loan at Bradford have been turning heads.

Seems are academy may be about to produce some players again after a bit of a blip the last few years.

How do you think you’ll do against us? 100% we are going to lose this week end. I have no reservations about predicting that.

Can one of you invite me to Mr Vardy’s party??

General Questions:

Describe your season in 10 words or less: Terrific but has a sense of 'what if' to it.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Top 6 now surely. But hopefully 4th

Which three teams do you think will go down?  At the start of the season I said Aston villa, Sunderland and Bournemouth. I'll change the last one to Newcastle and pat myself on the back for having a couple of decent predictions.

Who do you think will win the league? Can't believe I'm saying this and you probably still can't believe you’re hearing it ….. Leicester City!!

Any other comments? Congratulations on a terrific season hopefully we will see u in Europe next year.
