Oppos Viewpoint – Norwich

A bit about you:

Name:  Ian Russell

Current home town: Leigh-on-sea, Essex

Birthplace: Southend-on-sea

How long have you supported your team? Over 35 years

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: Great atmosphere and very passionate, football-loving fans

Favourite match played by your team & why: Rotherham 4-4 Norwich (2004) – just one of those games that had everything.  8 goals, a sending-off, a dodgy penalty, a half-time tunnel bust up and a late equaliser

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Darren Huckerby

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Wes Hoolahan – like a fine wine, Wes just gets better and better.  On his day, he can mesmerise defences and his assists count speaks for itself

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Wes, for the above reasons!  Nathan Redmond has really matured over the past 7 or 8 months too.  His pace, trickery and eye for goal seems to improve game on game

Player in our squad you most fear and why? I guess Jamie Vardy is the obvious choice.  Got his cap and seems to be playing with real confidence and scoring some goals

Up and coming prospect in your squad? We have some good young lads from the Development Squad.  The Murphy twins are both out on loan and we have a good left-back in the making (Harry Toffolo)

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? 14th

How do you think you’ll do against us? Should be a good game and I’m confident we’ll get something.  We’ve had 2 good away draws and so I would hope we can follow this up with a result.  I’ll go for an optimistic 2-1

General Questions:

What do you think of the summer transfer activity both in and out of your club?  We probably expected more signings but it’s clear the club tried to bring in players but were not going to be held to ransom on prices.  It’s also difficult for a newly promoted club to attract some of the top players.  We have a policy and we stick to it.  Robbie Brady is an excellent signing for us.  The 2 loan players (Wisdom and Jarvis) add to what we have and I think Mbokani will be a decent addition up top for us

Which three teams do you think will go down?Sunderland, Watford and Aston Villa

Who do you think will win the league?  Manchester City

Any other comments? Always a good game against Leicester.  Looking forward to it and wish the Foxes all the best for the remainder of the season.
