Season Tickets – Trust Clear Confusion & Repeat Deadline Delay Demand

Trust Press Release

The Foxes Trust Board has decided to step in to clarify the confusion over ticket prices following stories of a 10% price increase appearing in the Leicester Mercury, quickly followed by the club stating they were “in line with last year in terms of both “early bird” and post early bird prices.

The confusion stems from the pricing structures being altered, as last year Season Ticket holders who had renewed tickets for a minimum of 3 years were offered a “Classic Price”, it is those Classic Prices, which have been termed Early Bird this year.

The Standard prices from last year, for Season Ticket holders of less than 3 years, are now close to the prices which will be charged from June 1st. The Kop prices published on the clubs official website after this date are actually £4 per season less than last year. The club have not published post May 31st prices for all areas of the ground as yet.

However, Trust Chairman, Ian Bason stated “There are 3 areas where the club are certainly offering a worse deal than last season….

a)     The 1,000 “Just the Ticket” prices, at £275, the cheapest in the ground, did not increase at any point last season, so the club is implementing a 10% price increase in this area from June 1st, despite the denials.

b)     The club has introduced the £4 per month administration fee for the Direct Debit scheme, where none existed last year. The true cost of running these schemes is nothing like £4 each, so a price rise or interest charge by another name has been introduced

c)     We have stated all along, that the “Early Bird” pricing scheme having a 31st May deadline was too soon, as last year the Classic prices and cut off date for retaining your existing seat was June 16th.

Therefore we repeat our call to delay the Early Bird cut off until at least the same time scales as last season, as the immediate plans for the club should be clearer by then given Milan Mandaric’s comments about decisions being made the first or second week of June.

We also still believe the prices should have been reduced to reflect our League One status and that a significant fall in number of season tickets will be the inevitable result of the club not listening, overall the club will be financially worse off”

For the purposes of comparing what was offered last season, below is a copy of last years pricing structure, this can be used when prices for all areas of the ground for the 2008/9 season are made available. THESE ARE THE 2007/8 SEASON PRICES, NOT THE CURRENT PRICNG STRUCTURE
