Daniel Iversen Loan Report

Preston fan Geoff Ollerton gave us a report about keeper Daniel Iversen earlier in the season

“Daniel returned to Preston just prior to the season starting and was on the bench for the opener v Hull. He was soon brought on to replace the injured Declan Rudd but it wasn’t a great start as we conceded four that day.

Since then he has been playing well although we did lose three games early on, not that he was at fault.

He has now got back into the form that we know he can produce some of his reaction saves are amazing. He is an exceptional goalkeeper and makes a huge difference to the team, he is in the same form that made him outstanding last term when he was voted player of the year.

He is well liked by teammates and supporters who are all agreed that it’s a good move by PNE to get him signed up for the full season. The most important thing is that he appears to be very happy here and long may that continue. “

So, we caught up again with Geoff earlier this week to see how he has developed since…

“Daniel did superb for us over the 18 months or so that he was here and deservedly won the player of the year awards, although I am not sure that a loanee should be in the running.

He has been improving his game with his feet and his distribution which needed to be improved if we are honest. He is now an all-round good goalkeeper who we would love to have back on a permanent basis (if only).

He will do well wherever he plays next season and I can’t see Leicester keeping him as third choice, so if he is loaned out again I would hope that PNE could have him back.

He has enjoyed being at Deepdale but other clubs will be watching and waiting, Middlesbrough for example, who I have much more spending power than us.

Over the season just gone Daniel had several man of the match performances and earned PNE numerous points with some rather incredibly unbelievable saves, he will be missed but all at Deepdale wish him well in his future career.”
