LCFC has today announced its consultation plans for implementing safe standing at the KP.
The Trust urges everyone who receives it, to complete the survey and have their say. The survey is open to all Season Ticket Holders and Members over 16.
There will be two ‘Your 90 Minutes’ sessions dedicated to safe standing on 16th and 17th December (one in person and one online). Please apply to attend and give your views. Book for 16th in person here and online on the 17th here.
In addition, there will also be a Safe Standing Consultation stand at the next two home games, where the cub will promote awareness of the consultation, and will give supporters the chance to feedback comments directly.
Some prototypes have been set up in SK1 and supporters can visit the prototypes to see examples of what a safe standing option might look like. You can still book appointments here for on 9th and 10th December.
Some representatives from the supporter groups and the wider Fans Consultative Committee Working Group will be invited to take a look at the prototypes before the Brighton game on 8th December and asked to provide any further feedback around the wider safe standing process.
The Trust’s previous survey showed that just under 90% of those surveyed wanted to see rail seating installed at the King Power Stadium, with around 30% caveating that based on where it would be installed. The Trust urges supporters to make their views now on all aspects of the consultation, including the type of safe standing to be chosen, the location of safe standing in the KP and how to compensate any displaced fans unable to stand.
The Foxes Trust and Union FS have already submitted a joint proposal to the club as part of the consultation.
We believe the installation of rail seating should occur before any stadium redevelopment starts and ideally work should be carried out to ensure it is in place before the start of the 2025/26 season, so we are pleased to see the club are quickly progressing the consultation phase.
