We continue our series of articles on players that were loaned out last season by speaking to Drew Main, Chairman of the Pars Supporters Trust and the fans rep on the Board at Dunfermline Athletic, about Jakub Stolarczyk’s loan spell
“Jakub did very well for us in what was a very difficult and challenging time for the club. When he arrived in January, we were already in the relegation play-off position in the league and were ultimately relegated via those play-offs.
However, when you consider this was his first opportunity to play senior football, some of his performances were outstanding. He’s an excellent shot stopper and prefers to punch crosses rather than attempt to catch the ball but rarely did that cause any problems (if at all).
If there was any criticism of his ability, it would be that his kicking could improve but it was by no means poor to begin with. He comes across as a very confident keeper for such a young and inexperienced player.
He quickly became a fans favourite as it was clear to see how passionate he was about representing our club. He had clearly done his homework on Dunfermline and this came across well in any pre/post-match interviews.
He is a credit to all those involved so far in his development and we would absolutely love to see him back at East End Park although I expect that’s unlikely following our relegation.”
