By Car
Please be aware that it is not advisable to head towards the ground on a match day unless you have a specific pass for one of the nearby car parks. Surrounding roads are subject to police road closures and heavy congestion.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL GIVE DIRECTIONS TO THOSE DRIVING TO THE ST MARY'S STADIUM ON NON-MATCHDAYS. DUE TO THE FACT THAT BRITANNIA ROAD IS SUBJECT TO A POLICE ROAD CLOSURE – DO NOT HEAD IN THE DIRECTION OF BRITANNIA ROAD ON A MATCH DAY.
How to get there
Parking around the St. Mary's Stadium is extremely limited so the club have set up numerous alternatives to enable you to get there comfortably, safely and efficiently.
Information from Chris Jacobs (Saints fan). Just wanted to let you guys know that anyone coming down to southampton by car on monday is best to park at ocean village which is about a 10 minute walk from st marys. Also parking is free after 6 pm so as a saints fan I'd advice an leicester fan to park at ocean village if their driving. Hopefully this will help your fans and i hope for a cracking match also not far away from a pub called the chapel arms which welcomes all away fans and always a great atmosphere.
Hope this helps the foxes that are travelling down.
By bus
A discounted Solent Dayrider or Southampton Dayrider is available to all match day and season ticket holders on match days only. This discount is £1 off a Southampton Dayrider (offer price is therefore £2) or £2 off a Solent Dayrider (offer price is therefore £4.00).
Both tickets entitle supporters to full use of the Bluestar, Solent Shuttle and Wilts & Dorset services in the appropriate area of validity. Vouchers must be detached from the Southampton FC match day or season ticket booklet by the driver of the first bus boarded and a Dayrider ticket will then be issued.
Conditions of the Dayrider are as per normal and are valid on all buses except Nightstar and certain other specific contracted services. The pass may be transferred to other users once the purchaser has finished using the ticket, but each individual must have a valid pass on each particular journey.
The following services pass by the Stadium on Northam Road:
3/3A 5/5A 8A (First Southampton)
18/19 (Solent Blue Line)
The following services operate via Itchen Bridge which is within sight of the stadium and only a short walk away:
8, 10/10A, 11/11A, 16, 17/17A (First Southampton)
Shuttle buses
A fee of £2.00 per return journey has been introduced for the use of the rail and ferry shuttle buses that bring supporters to St. Mary's on all matchdays.
The fare is payable on the in bound journey only, and tickets must be shown in order to use the bus on the return leg. Anyone who doesn't produce a valid ticket will not get admittance to the buses.
—
In addition to the scheduled bus services, there are shuttle bus services in operation on match days from the Central Train Station and the Town Quay Ferry Terminal. These services will commence two hours before the match kicks off and will continue to run until kick off. The service will also be in operation after the match to take passengers back to the railway station/ferry terminal. The service is not a numbered bus service and will simply say "Stadium Shuttle" on inbound journeys and "Rail/Ferry Shuttle" on outbound journeys.
Passengers are to be advised that the railway shuttle service leaves from the Commercial Road side of the station outside Blechynden Terrace. The ferry shuttle will leave from the main bus stop at the terminal.
Simply show your match ticket or season ticket booklet in order to use the shuttle bus service for £2 per return journey.

Where to drink
There are not many pubs located close to the stadium, so the choice for away fans is limited. The King Alfred pub on Northam Road is recommended as a good pub to visit, just a few minutes walk away from the stadium. Simply head to the railway lines at the west of the stadium; to the right of the away end, then up and over the bridge across the lines. The pub is a minute's walk away to your left. There is a small pay and display car park adjacent'. The pub shows Sky Sports and has a barbeque in matchdays.
There is also the Waterfront Bar in William Street, which is an area called Shamrock Quay. In the Ocean Village is "The Admiral Sir Lucius Curtis" public house. This large establishment has an an excellent choice of beers, friendly bar staff and a mix of both home and away fans'.
Most fans seem to end up in the city centre before the game, where there are plenty of pubs to choose from. Please remember though that if you do drink in the centre, that the stadium is a good twenty minute walk away. Otherwise alcohol is served within the ground.
