Following a meeting with new LCFC Chief Executive Susan Whelan in pre-season, it was agreed as part of the re-branding of our stadium to King Power, that the Foxes Trust would be allowed to have sections of the stadium frieze (the images that were just inside the stadium roof and featured various players) as the Trust wanted to create the opportunity for fans to own a piece.
It was announced in the Leeds match day magazine that the Trust will be using e-bay to auction off the sections, with all proceeds from the sale contributing to the recently formed Foxes Foundation’s (a registered charity) campaign One In a Million, which has the aim of raising £150,000 this season
For those who haven’t read the details of the Foxes Foundation, all proceeds generated will be equally split between 10 local charities, more details about the Foxes Foundation are available here http://www.lcfc.com/page/FoxesFoundation/0,,10274~2467565,00.html
Recently the Trust Board spent a wind swept afternoon dividing the pieces into usable sections, cataloguing and photographing each piece ready for e-bay.
The first 6 items being auctioned will include pieces featuring Lineker/Lynex/Smith, a match in the 1930’s vs Southampton and one featuring Peter Shilton and Frank O’Farrell, and the auction is planned to commence prior to our next home game, but keep visiting this website for more news on the auction
