Oppos View – Cardiff Ist Leg

A bit about you:

Name: Ross Fowler

Current home town:  Aberbargoed

Birthplace: Caerphilly

How long have you supported your team? 1st game in 95- Man City home in the FA Cup- Cardiff 1-0 Man City (Giant Killing at its best)

Overview of this season:

When this season kicked off, how did you expect your club to do? I expected playoffs.

Again as the season started, which clubs did you expect to be challenging for promotion? West Brom, Middlesborough, Sheffield Utd, Newcastle.

Which was the most impressive performance of the season & why? Bristol City 0-6 Cardiff City, we were superb from start to finish. Beating Swansea in the last minute was special also….

Which game would you like to forget & why? Swansea City 3-2 Cardiff City, no-one wants to lose a derby and we are no different.

In your view who has been your clubs player of the season? Peter Whittingham or Chris Burke, our two wingers. Whitts for banging in the goals and Burkey for terrorising defences all season long.

Which opposition player has impressed you the most? I thought Peter Lovenkrands was superb when they beat us at St James’s park.

About our forthcoming match against you:

Which of your players do you view as your potential match winner? Jay Bothroyd, key player for us, unstoppable on is day.

Which player in our squad do you most fear and why? Steven Howard, big target man and we always seem to struggle against a big guy, glad he is suspended for the 1st leg.

What’s your prediction for the result in the first leg? Leicester City 1-2 Cardiff City, although I would take a draw.

And over the two legs, the aggregate score? Cardiff City 4-2 Leicester City.

Looking Ahead:

Which club do you think the winner of our tie will face at Wembley? Nottingham Forest.

If you get promoted, how do you think you would do in the Premiership? If we bought well, I think we could avoid relegation.

If you don’t get promoted, what do you think the consequences will be for your club? It doesn’t bare thinking about right now, we would lose key players and with our financial situation we could be in big trouble.
