Twenty’s Plenty for Away Tickets

At the beginning of this year, the Football Supporters Federation launched this campaign which argued that clubs should reward the loyalty of travelling fans with reciprocal £20 ticket deals.

Following the new Sky TV deal, it was argued that in particular Premiership clubs should utilise some of the additional money gained to help fund fans to attend games, particularly away fans where the ever increasing travel costs when added to growing ticket prices was resulting in falling away attendances and in turn a reduced atmosphere at games.

Recently the campaign has started to yield results with reciprocal pricing agreements for away fans have been agreed by Newcastle United,  Swansea City , West Bromwich Albion and Hull City.

However travel costs are the same regardless of the division your club plays in and with Leicester City fans paying for example £32.50 to visit Ipswich, the need to widen the reciprocal pricing agreements continue.

Our club has also received complaints from travelling fans about pricing levels over recent seasons, where “local promotion fixtures” known as Fans Fixtures allow home fans to be charged £15 whereas away fans are paying close to double, as happened when Barnsley visited. This season the club received a complaint from the Huddersfield Supporters Association for charging £28 adult and £25 concessions, in comparison to the Twenty’s Plenty  recommended £20 adult, £15 concessions pricing level
