Trust Backs City Fans “100% LCFC” Plans

The Trust Board has announced it’s full backing for an initiative created by two City fans Phil Holloway and Jonathan Wade to get the atmosphere at it’s peak for the vital game against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

Phil takes up the story “Both myself and a close friend, Jonathan Wade, had a discussion after the Colchester game that we felt the "atmosphere" had gone in the Walkers…. not surprising after 4 very hard years for the fans.

Gone were the days of painted faces, balloons, ticker tape and the enthusiasm of play offs and Wembley cup finals…. We always used to turn up to a match with a pocket full of balloons and a sporting blue to rip up and chuck in the air.

To try and back the manager and the team 100% we have created a slogan – 100%LCFC – which we have printed onto 5000 blue balloons. and we have also got another local company to print 5000 sheets of "ticker tape" for fans to rip up….

We simply want to help create a Mighty ROAR – so that when the teams come out they can see 25,000 fans willing them on…..

There has been well reported changes of manager, changes of administration, many players coming and going – but the one constant thing for the club is the fans. We will always be there whatever happens, and we felt it was time to pull together and be 100%LCFC.

We have spoken with Peter Jones at LCFC who has given his blessing and say the club are pleased with our ideas, and we are dropping off some balloons at the ground for Peter on Thursday at 4pm.

We already have some volunteers to give these away on the matchday, but are keen to hear from anybody who wants to help. (e-mail Phil [email protected] ). Our aim is to meet outside the Club Shop at around 1.15pm on Matchday.”

The Trust hopes this initiative will succeed in create a noise filled and intimidating atmosphere for the Sheffield Wednesday players, with all fans showing their full backing for every player throughout the game, however the match progresses.

Let’s all play our part in retaining Championship football for next season by the end of the game.

100% LCFC !
