“Ben Nelson has been an outstanding player for us during his loan spell, having started 8 matches during which he formed an excellent understanding with his fellow defenders.
He’s obviously a young player learning his trade and Oxford United fans have been very impressed with his energy and ability. He has a level of positional ability rare in a young player, he can bring the ball forward and he has a good passing range.
Many have commented that he has the potential to go to the very top in the game. I have heard him compared to a young Matt Elliott, a name from our respective pasts which will resonate with LCFC fans.
Ben’s injury, which has required surgery, is really unfortunate and OUFC fans are wishing him a quick recovery and are hoping that it doesn’t signal the end of his time here.”
