Twenty’s Plenty weekend of action (Oct 3rd & 4th)

The Football Supporters Federation’s (FSF) "Twenty's Plenty" weekend of action takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October with activity at games throughout the leagues.

At our game the campaign has been organised by Norwich fans group BarclayEndProjekt (safe standing campaigners) and the Canaries Trust is supporting them. Leicester fans are joining the protest being led by Union FS, which similarly is being fully backed by the Foxes Trust.

Union FS have issued a statement giving the background to their involvement which can be read on this link http://www.unionfs.co.uk/fsf-fan-protest—norwich–a-.html

If you are going to the game, please show your support for this national campaign to reduce ticket prices. Union FS are planning to meet in the Compleat Angler at 1pm before making the short walk to Carrow Road, together as a group, at around 1.50pm to meet fans of Norwich for a joint show of solidarity. Please print off the poster on the following link and take it with you to show your support http://foxestrust.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/TWENTY-IS-PLENTY-Poster.pdf

The FSF have given further background to their campaign “Twenty's Plenty for Away Tickets aims to reduce costs for travelling supporters, in order to make football more affordable and acknowledge the huge, positive impact away fans have on the game. We think home tickets are often too expensive as well, but the current focus is on away tickets as there is currently more chance of league-wide action on this. Since we launched Twenty's Plenty back in 2013 many clubs have listened and started to reduce prices on a reciprocal basis.

Twenty’s Plenty has saved 68,000 fans a total of £738,000 in the past two seasons, and that number will continue to grow. Coventry City adopted Twenty's Plenty for every game at the Ricoh Arena and there are "Twenty's Plenty" deals at many Yorkshire derbies. In the top-flight Newcastle Utd have just announced another deal with Stoke and Swansea City have capped their own fans' tickets at £22. More deals will be announced throughout the season. (Leicester City have in effect capped prices for the Norwich game by funding £10 off ticket prices.)

There's still a long way to go, but that's what these protests are all about, keeping the pressure on clubs and the issue in the media spotlight. We're very proud that this FSF campaign has saved fans hundreds of thousands – lets turn that into millions of pounds saved.
