View from the opposition – Chelsea 15 May 2016

A bit about you:

Name: Tim Rolls

Current home town: Teddington

Birthplace: Winslow, Bucks

How long have you supported your team? 1st game v Stoke Sept 1967

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: Statue of Peter Osgood outside West Stand

Favourite match played by your team & why: Champions League final v Bayern Munch May 2012.  Obvious reason!

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Bobby Tambling

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? John Terry. It is a shame it looks like he has played his last game for Chelsea, unless an announcement is made in the next couple of days. Without him the team has no obvious leader.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Eden Hazard has woken from a season-long slumber in the past two games. He is a genuine world-class talent and, in form, is a handful for any PL defence.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? Mahrez is clearly a very high class player, both scoring and making goals. The fact that Mourinho spent three days drilling his defence how to deal with him and Vardy, prior to the away game in December, and they still both scored, says a lot about them, and the Chelsea defence this season. Mourinho was sacked three days later.

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Dominic Solanke

How do you think you’ll do against us? 2-2 draw. A fairly meaningless game for both sides tbh. Leicester have thoroughly deservedly won the league, they have been the best team by some distance. Chelsea may play a couple of youngsters, whereas I guess Leicester will play the usual side, though celebrations may have taken their toll ?

General Questions:

Describe your season in less than 15 words: Nine months of serial underachievement, with widespread lack of application and utter lack of desire.

Any other comments?

Enjoy the game and enjoy the Champions League. Chelsea need to bounce back quickly, the absence of European football will hurt the supporters and, hopefully, whichever players Conte does not ship out.
