Oppos Viewpoint – Arsenal

A bit about you:

Name: Akhil Vyas

Current home town:  Hounslow

Birthplace: Isleworth

How long have you supported your team? All my life – 26 years.

Overview of your club:

Favourite thing about your home ground: my seat! The 2014 FA CUP sign which was added this summer to show our first trophy in our new ground.

Favourite match played by your team & why: 1998 – Man United 0 Arsenal 1, Overmars. Our first win in the PL at Old Trafford and showed the tide had turned slightly and we won our first PL title and Wenger’s glory years began.

Favourite player of all time who played for your club: Patrick Vieira – leader, inspiration, led from the front and defended the club every single minute of every day.

About our forthcoming match against you:

Your favourite current player in your squad and why? Theo Walcott – Can score a goal at any moment, worked hard to improve himself and doesn’t hide in big games.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why? Aaron Ramsey – man of the moment, one of the best players on the planet (certainly in our opinion!) and will be rested up as he is suspended in the week.

Player in our squad you most fear and why? Despite Drinkwater being your player of the year, Jamie Vardy if he returns could be a threat to our very new defence.

Up and coming prospect in your squad? Calum Chambers has obviously been a revelation since joining but I really like Serge Gnabry (injured at the moment) and think he can play a big part for years to come – he probably needs games here or elsewhere on loan though. Joel Campbell could be one to watch on Sunday though as he may get some time with Giroud out.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season? Heart says 1st! but head says 3rd or 4th – I think if we can add another play or two to our first team, we could well challenge for the league.

How do you think you’ll do against us? I think Leicester will be highly motivated and fresh – Arsenal will be coming off a European game but I’m hopefully we will nudge it. I’m making the trip down and hoping to see an open game, which may suit us.

Any other comments? Best of luck for the season ahead, just not on Sunday – also looking forward to my first visit to the Walkers Stadium.
