Hard Fought Point Deserved

Birmingham 1 City 1

Well you can't say that City are not fighters, they played magnificently. In the first 10 minutesthey would have scored if Elvis Hammond had been on the pitch. We do badly need some height in the box. The only thing we appeared to be lacking is a goal scorer. Hume (and Fryatt) are both fast but don't have a heading ability.

The first half our defence was like a brick wall. Every time Birmingham launched an attack McCarthy was there, (whether it was left, right or centre of the box). In my opinion he was certainly man of the match.

A very close second to McCarthy had got to be Logan, he made two magnificent saves in the first half and again several more after the break. Their goal was lucky, we relaxed for a couple of minutes. I was still confident that we would go on to win the match with the fighting spirit we displayed (as usual)….

For the first time in ages I can't say that anyone had a bad game but we just couldn't score. Birmingham were without a doubt no better than us but show the determination that we displayed  Ian Hume played his socks off and was always there when the ball was played into the box, it issuch a shame that he is not 12" taller.

Josh  Low's cross for Elvis Hammond made the goal. If only others were as precise in their crosses and free kicks I am sure our goal scoring chances would double.( He should be taking all our corners and free kicks)

We could have had another goal in the dying minutes if only Levi Porter would learn where the goal posts are. It is not the first time he as been in the position of burying the ball in the net. He must practice his striking more. He is good on the ball.

We must remember that basically Birmingham is more or less still a Premiership team and according to previous reports should have walked over us. The determination of the Foxes totally nullified Birmingham's attacks.

We at last did get what we deserved from a match, we have had so many disappointments in recent matches, with Hull, Sunderland and West Brom to mention a few.

We felt that for the first time in ages we had a referee who played fair (how many times have we said that City have to play against 12 men

Well done City, keep up the good work
