Marc Albrighton – A view from the Claret & Blue corner

Continuing our series of articles looking at new signings byt taking a view from their previous clubs fans, Aston Villa fan, Andy Collins looks at our new winger.

“The vast majority of fans wanted Villa to keep Albrighton. Having been with the club for over a decade, he came through the youth system, reserves, into the first team. Young, local home grown talent is always popular with the fans.

Having been on loan to Wigan for a period last season, he returned and got back into the first team squad, then the starting eleven. During the last few months of the season, his performances were one of the few bright spots in some mediocre team displays. The highlight was probably his run and cross for Delph to score the winner against Chelsea.

You have got a hard-working, direct winger, who can beat a full back and put over decent crosses. If he does get more game time next season at Leicester, here’s hoping he has a couple of quiet 90 minutes against his former employers!”
